Key Points About Nursing Eligibility – (Traditional Program)

Freshman at the Atlanta Campus must take and pass the first course in each sequence of courses listed below* and attain a grade of B or higher, before they complete 30 hours.  Course may not be repeated in an attempt to achieve a grade of B:

MATH 1070 Elementary Statistics or MATH 1111 College Algebra**
BIOL 2300 Microbiology or CHEM 1151K Survey of Chemistry**
ENGL 1101 English Composition I or ENGL 1102 English Composition II
PHIL 1010 Critical Thinking or PSYC 1101 Introduction to Psychology or SPCH 1000 Human Communication

 

IMPORTANT NOTES!

*Whichever course you take in the sequence is your first course

**MATH 1070 and BIOL 2300 cannot be substituted but higher level math and science is acceptable.  If for some reason a student cannot enroll in the CHEM 1151k/1152k sequence, nursing will also accept biology or physics.

Historically, students accepted to the traditional track have had a program GPA greater than 3.3
