  1. Transfers are those who enrolled and took courses in a nursing program.   You may submit application online under the section as a transfer.  Transfer applicants must select Traditional or ACE track upon applying.

Please allow recommender ample time to submit your recommendation before application deadline.  Students are responsible to ensure recommendation letters are submitted only by recommenders.

Student:

  1. Provide recommenders your Georgia State Panther ID Number,
  2. Program applying; Traditional, ACE or both.
  3. Term you are applying
  4. Your email address.

Recommender:

  1. Each letter of recommendation submitted must be on an official letterhead providing complete address of company or affiliated organization.
  2. One letter must be academic (preferable college level); the other may be academic or professional.
  3. Letters must include full name, title/position, telephone number and organization affiliated.
  4. Each letter should be signed with an authentic recommender’s handwritten signature or electronic digital signature, dated and in the appropriate letter format. No computer signatures will be accepted unless using software to allow a digital signature.
  5. All academic references must be placed on letterhead to avoid reduction in application points.

Submit Recommendation

 

The application period for the fall semester is November 1 – March 1. March 1 is the deadline to apply for fall semester. The application period for the spring semester is June 1 – October 1. October 1 is the deadline to apply for spring semester.
Applications are reviewed only after they are complete - this includes all application materials and a completed entrance exam, as well as acceptance to Georgia State University as a "degree-seeking undergraduate." Applications decisions are generally mailed during the months of March, April, and October.

No, but you must be able to finish all prerequisites before the semester in which you are applying to enter the program. You must also indicate the courses in which you are currently enrolled in your application. If you are completing prerequisites at any college other than Georgia State University, you must also submit an unofficial transcript to the School of Nursing and an official transcript to Georgia State’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions reflecting your completed prerequisites immediately following completion of your courses.
If your TEAS is more than a year old from the date you submit your nursing application (within the application period), you must re-take the TEAS.
Yes; however, Georgia State will not compare multiple test scores. Make sure that you specify the score you want to be considered on your application. A separate testing fee is required per exam.
Yes, but only directly from the school that administered the test or from Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC (ATI) at 800-667-7531. If your results are being sent from another school, the results must be mailed to the following address by the nursing application deadline in school stationery and signed across the flap:

Yes. Study guides for nursing school entrance exams are available at many bookstores. They are usually found in the section with the study guides for SAT, ACT, etc. You can ask the bookstore to order one for you if you must. You may also order a study guide from the publisher.
No. Any professional format for a letter of recommendation is acceptable. Be sure to ask your reference to include their contact information in the letter.
No, you may apply simultaneously if you choose. However, you must be accepted by Georgia State University before our nursing application deadline in order for your nursing application to be considered for the semester in which you are applying. Therefore, you must make sure that you apply to Georgia State in enough time for efficient processing.
